Getting to Our Place

FAQ

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Why should I be concerned whether the place that I stay at is legally registered?

To safeguard the comfort and safety of our visitors to Singapore, the law in Singapore requires that any establishment that provides lodging for hire, has to be registered with the local Hotel Licensing Board. This applies to establishments like hotels, guest houses, boarding houses and hostels. To qualify for a registration certificate, the premises used needs to meet many stringent requirements, including ...

  a. premises must be structurely adapted for such use
  b. proper provision must be made for hygiene and sanitation
  c. operation must be compatibile with the surrounding neighbourhood
  d. adequate provisions must be made for fire protection ...

and many others.

It is actually possible to find cheap accommodation in Singapore, but if you do not choose a place that is properly & legally registered, you may find yourself staying in overcrowded rooms, unhygienic environment, or in potential fire hazards.

2. Do you impose a night curfew?

For the security of our guests, we lock our front doors between 11.30 p.m. and 7.30 a.m. A keypad number lock has been installed at our front door, so that for guests who wish to stay out late, you only need to obtain the daily code number to let yourself in. This means effectively, there is no night curfew and all registered guests have 24-hours access.

3. What if I arrive before normal check-in time?

Earlier check-in is possible, but is subject to room availability. Normally, we need to wait for the outgoing guests to check-out, then we need to clean the rooms, before we can let the incoming guests check in. Usually, this means that you can get your room only after 2.00 p.m. If you arrive earlier, we can complete all the registration formalities first, and you can deposit your luggage in our storeroom until your room is ready.

4. What if I arrive after 11.30 p.m. / before 7.30 a.m.?

For guests with confirmed bookings, if you expect to arrive later than 11.30 p.m., or before 7.30 a.m., you need to inform us beforehand, so that we can make special arrangements for your check-in.

5. I am catching a late flight / bus / boat on the day of check-out. Do you have any place for me to store my luggage for the day?

On the day of check-out, you can store your luggage in our storeroom at no charge.

6. We are travelling as a group of 4. What is the difference between booking a 4-bed private dorm, and 4 individual dorm beds?

If you wish to stay together as a group, you should book a 4-bed private dorm. If you select 4 individual beds, you do not have any choice of the dorms, and you may need to settle for 4 separate beds in different dorms.
(the same question & answer applies similarly to a group of 6)

7. I have submitted a reservation request / enquiry but have not received any reply after 48 hrs, what do I have to do?

Some of the possible reasons for not receiving our email ...
... your mailbox is full.
... your spam filter deleted / blocked our email.
